School days are just around the corner mellow playful summer mornings that turn into carefree low pressure adventures are coming to a close. The air has already started to change, I can feel the fall dancing in the breezes in the morning when I sip my morning coffee while watching the youngest play, today he has on long pants and his shoes, a first for him, I usually let him play in his bare feet but the cool morning called for a bit more. I’m ok with it, I really love the summer love that develops in our family structure from being together and experiencing as a family. But I’m also a huge fan of the space and quite that comes from sending my little cherubs off to school for the day! I'm a free wheeling hippy dippy kind of soul, I love to be spontaneous and feel free with nothing to tie me down.
On the flip side:
I’m also a Mother, a Mother of three children that I am responsible for. Assisting to maintain a flow to keep them on track so they can get up on time, eat a healthy meal, backpacks packed with all required paperwork & dressed with in the appropriate guidelines, all in the early hours of the morning before they go to school with as little stress and turmoil as possible so they can become successful, functioning adults someday! That is a lot of pressure!
So we build a routine.
Building a routine can really help ease the anxiety of starting something new. Both of my school aged kids transition much smoother when they know what to expect. We write lists and make charts. We prepare the night before and we use reward systems. I have a dry erase calendar in my kitchen that’s color coded that I’ve had for over 5 years because it helps them to literally see the bigger picture! They love it, they are now old enough that they can add to it if they need!
I’ve definitely learned from experience over the last almost 14 years to stick with what works. Sometimes you need to try a few strategies before you find what clicks!
I’m living my life in a whole new way, SIMPLE!
This year has been a huge growth year for me and I’m really realizing how easy life is when you keep it simple.
I have a limited schedule right now to take on new clients. If you’d like to work with me send me a email and we can make something work! I’m a full time stay at home mom, (my children and partner comes first above all else) I’m a part time student, I’m always enrolled in classes or trainings. Can’t help it I live to learn. I’m also a part time Wellness Mentor. So you can see as a "free bird spirit" I need lots of charts, schedules & routines to manage it all!
